The school was intended formally for students but has also been of value for new Post-Doc Researchers. A series of pedagogical lectures on themes associated with QAP research was delivered by prominent scientists within QAP. Co-location with the UK QIP-IRC. School provided opportunities for broader training than within QAP alone, and for broader networking beyond the consortium. The summer school has fulfilled part of the obligations authored in the Technical Annexe including dissemination. There were three scientists participating as invited speakers .
The Summer School was held at Gregynog in Wales.
Lecturers included:
- Dr Arzhang Ardavan (QIP IRC - University of Oxford)
Principles of magnetic resonance relevant to QIP, tutorial/seminar on his current work including measuring/correcting errors and bang-bang
- Dr Daniel Browne (QAP - University of Oxford)
One-way quantum computation: theory and applications I and II
This was the problem set by Dr Daniel Browne for the Summer School participants.
- Professor Christopher Foot (QIP IRC - University of Oxford)
Experiments with Ions, Atoms and Molecules
- Professor Sir Peter Knight (QIP IRC - Imperial College)
Lecture 1 , Lecture 2 & Lecture 3
- Professor Serge Massar (QAP - Universite Libre de Bruxelles)
Quantum non locality
This was the problem set by Professor Serge Massar for the Summer School participants.
- Professor Eugene Polzik (QAP - Copenhagen University)
Quantum teleportation between light and matter
This was the problem set by Professor Eugene Polzik for the Summer School participants.
- Professor John Rarity (QIP IRC - University of Bristol)
Introduction to Photonic Quantum Logic
Free Space Quantum Cryptography
- Dr Tim Spiller (QIP IRC - Hewlett-Packard Laboratories, Bristol).
This was the problem set by Dr Tim Spiller for the Summer School participants.
